Here are some common symbolic interpretations: Trying to escape a problem: Running may represent avoiding a difficult situation, fear, conflict, or emotional pressure in your waking life. Feeling overwhelmed: The combination of running and screaming can symbolize a high level of stress, anxiety, or a sense that events are moving faster than you can manage. Wanting to be heard: Screaming may represent a need to express feelings, ask for help, or communicate something important that you feel others are overlooking. Common variations Running from an unknown person or danger: You may be avoiding an issue that feels difficult to identify or confront. Screaming but no sound comes out: This is a common dream theme and may symbolize feeling powerless, ignored, or unable to express yourself effectively. Running toward someone while screaming: This could represent an urgent need for connection, help, or protection. Others are running and screaming: You may be reacting to tension or uncertainty in your environment rather than to a personal issue. From a spiritual perspective In some spiritual traditions, running and screaming in a dream is interpreted as: A reflection of inner spiritual conflict or distress. A call to seek wisdom, guidance, or peace during a difficult season. An invitation to examine what fears or concerns are dominating your thoughts. This is a recurring dream for many years. I dream I am alone or with my two children at the house where I grew up as a child. The main focus and my main responsibility of the dream is to always lock the gate outside the yard before it turns night. Sometimes during the dream, I will look through the window in the night to make sure it is locked. In the last dream, I did not lock the gate, if seems it was not urgent or I forgot or got distracted. When I came outside my car was stollen. I went to the gate to close and lock it but I struggled because it seems the lock was broken. I eventually got it locked with much struggle.
