He went to the door, listened, and told me to be quiet and to move backward against the wall. The burglar came into the room, I gasped, and he noticed me and raised his gun to shoot me. I grabbed a floor lamp as a shield and held the base up toward him. He only lifted the gun part way and stopped with a bewildered look on his face staring at me.
